Charles Schwab’s Bitcoin and Ethereum trading service is now available to all eligible clients, completing a phased rollout that began in April, CEO Rick Wurster said during the company’s third-quarter earnings call.

The brokerage, which manages more than $13 trillion in client assets, expects to add three crypto assets by year-end, including Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink, which it first identified as planned listings in August.

“We are rolling out the ability for clients to transfer their crypto holdings to Schwab, and we are launching access to three new coins by the end of the year,” Wurster said.

Addressing how Schwab can capture a fairer share of the value created by its platform, Wurster said the company has actively pursued several monetization opportunities. These include monetizing exchange-traded funds and expanding into new businesses that generate transaction-based revenue.

Crypto and prediction markets are among the areas Schwab sees as opportunities to earn revenue from client trading activity. The company is also working to improve monetization across its product platforms while continuing to grow wealth management and lending.

“There [are] others we have pursued and implemented and feel good about those. We are also expanding into new areas that create additional transactional-based revenue streams that are beneficial to our clients, things like crypto, things like prediction markets,” he said.

Schwab, which already offers limited S&P 500-linked binary options through Cboe, said it plans to expand prediction-market offerings over the next 12 to 18 months to financial events, company performance indicators and political events, while avoiding sports betting.
