Jupiter and BitGo launched a dedicated Jupiter x BitGo validator that lets institutional clients stake SOL without moving assets out of BitGo’s custody, CryptoDaily reported on Wednesday. Clients keep their existing custody arrangements and earn protocol staking rewards.

Custody protections stay in place

Assets remain under BitGo’s cold storage, with up to $250 million in insurance and bankruptcy-remote protections. “Running a validator is how we invest in that base layer,” said Kash Dhanda, Jupiter’s chief operating officer. Abel Seow, BitGo’s head of APAC sales, said staking is an important part of how institutions manage their SOL holdings.
