Vitalik Buterin sent $1 million in USDC to the Kanro Fund, the charitable initiative he backs, Cointelegraph reported on Tuesday, citing blockchain data from Arkham Intelligence. The Ethereum co-founder made no public statement about the transfer.

Meme coin sales have funded Kanro before

Kanro focuses on biotech research, including pandemic prevention and global health. Buterin has funded it in part by selling meme coins that token creators sent unsolicited to his public wallet, converting the proceeds into stablecoins for donations.
