Chainlink has introduced CCIP Vault Adapters to give DeFi vaults access to users and liquidity across more than 80 blockchains while keeping each vault deployed on a single home network. Powered by CCIP, the adapters let users make cross-chain deposits directly into a vault instead of manually bridging assets and completing multiple transactions.
The adapters are designed to work with standard ERC-4626 vaults through a factory contract, allowing deployment without custom cross-chain code. Vault providers can maintain a single source of truth for accounting, strategy, governance and risk controls while accepting deposits from supported chains. Receipt tokens can also be configured as Cross-Chain Tokens so vault shares can be used across networks.
Aave, Lombard, Venus and other DeFi platforms are among the early adopters. Lombard is using the system to route BTC deposits from Avalanche into its Ethereum vault, while Aave is extending its sGHO vault beyond Ethereum and using CCIP to support cross-chain liquidity flows.
Chainlink said the initial release focuses on standard cross-chain deposits and redemptions, with additional support planned for asynchronous interactions, multi-asset deposits and permissioned vaults. The adapters can also be combined with Chainlink services such as Proof of Reserve, compliance tools and automated workflows.
